Pages Per Day Calculator
Calculate the daily reading target needed to finish a book or document on schedule
Pages per day
How we calculated it
About the Pages Per Day Calculator
Pages Per Day Calculator turns a reading goal into a daily page target based on total pages and the number of days available. It is useful for books, coursework and reading plans where a clear daily quantity makes progress easier to track.
Page count is only a workload proxy. Dense textbooks, diagrams and note-taking can make one page take much longer than a page of light fiction.
How to Use the Pages Per Day Calculator
- Enter the total pages to complete.
- Subtract pages already finished if progress has begun.
- Enter the number of reading days remaining.
- Calculate pages per day and round up when you need to guarantee completion by the deadline.
How the Calculation Works
Remaining pages = total pages − pages already read.
Pages per day = remaining pages ÷ remaining reading days. If only whole pages can be assigned, round upward for a conservative daily target or distribute the remainder across selected days.
Worked example
Pages Per Day Calculator Worked Example
360 pages remaining with 18 reading days
Pages per day = 360÷18 = 20 pages per day.
